Introduction
FaceScreen is a macOS menu bar app brought to you by Softal.io and developed by Ram Patra. You can contact them on their social media accounts or through the chat bubble.
What data is being collected?
Currently, FaceScreen does not collect any user data. The camera is only used to show the camera feed on the screen. No video is recorded, saved, or uploaded to any server by FaceScreen. If in the future it needs to collect some user data to properly function then this privacy policy will be updated, and the same will also reflect on the app. Having said that, it is highly unlikely that this app will need user data to function.
Will any third party company collect data?
FaceScreen does not use or rely on any third party companies. It is a standalone application that runs on your machine and doesn’t need a server or backend to operate.
What are my rights as a user?
If FaceScreen were to ever collect user data then you can:
  • enquire what data is being collected
  • question why the app needs to collect data
  • ask what does the app do with the data
  • request your data that is being collected
  • request to delete your data
As of today, FaceScreen does not collect any data so you should be good.
How do I get Privacy Policy updates?
If there is an update to the Privacy Policy then this page will be updated. Additionally, the Mac App Store page and the app will be updated with the necessary information. Having said that, you’re always welcome to join the community at x.com/softal_io to stay abreast of the latest changes and additions to the software.
